Is there a conspiracy brewing

is mike bell for real or is he a decoy for p.t. to break out and dominate ??????????,

Will there be one in the saints backfield in 09. Personally i hoping for one . Not for the purpose of a T.O type bullshit but for an all out war between the running backs for the new orleans saints. its time, yes its time for pierre thomas to put the media and his coachs to bed on this subject. the media starting to make something out of nothing in the two running backs carreers. the war i'm talking about is between the two to push each other to the point of both becoming the best tandum in the nfl south. we all know reggie will be in there with one of them at all times ,but if you guys see what i'm thinking what the media is trying to make of it. m. bell is on as you all know is a come back tour at the expense of p. thomas. mike is as good as he wants to be, its his health thats brought him down in his career. this guys good people how good thats where p. thomas comes in . he bulked it up in the weight room to the size of you know who ,bell of coarse.  we have a great problem saints fans, we will become a run first throw second football team in the near future. all hells going to break loose on the detriot lions in the dome in sept. i know some of you out there is thinking what i've been thinking so lets hear from you on this positive topic.

I was drinking the Mike Bell Kool-Aid when he was in Denver…as I had him on my fantasy team and he was ''supposed'' to have a break out year…it just never happened.

I've read that He (Bell) was told to gain weight and try to bulk up to move to the FB spot, and when he resisted, Shannahan basically black balled him.

I guess we'll see how it goes…the kid has alot of talent.

As far as us making the shift from a pass first Offense to a run first Offense…I'm not so sure of that. I think, if anything, the RB's that were brought in and/or retained was an act of simply trying like hell to find a running game in this Offense. I wouldn't expect much to change, as far as playcalling goes…Of course, from game to game, it's anybody's guess…But for the most part, I think they were just looking for more yards per carry when they do decide to run, and having a little extra ''starter quality'' depth, just incase….I'm not convinced they are trying to change the Offensive philosophy.

Payton is a pass-first coach. Bottom line. He was a quarterback when he (briefly) played and all of his best moves deal with the pass game. It's not bad having an offense like the Patriots. It got them all the way to 18-1…and they probably could have made it a little farther if Belichick hadn't gotten sloppy in his last bit of calling (hubris always precedes the fall).

I think our run game will look night and day different in terms of effectiveness this year and Payton may call 4 or 5 more run plays per game but it won't be THAT noticeable and it won't be like going from the Patriots to the Steelers.

Any competition is welcome.  It will definitely keep everyone on their toes and not get comfortable since there will always be someone breathing down their neck.  I like the fact that we have PT and Bell around since we aren't sure if either can handle the load all by themself.  I still miss Deuce, but I think the RB corps we have will be able to handle the pressure.
